Enola Holmes (2020) Netflix movie Review 10/10

“Enola Holmes” is a gem.  Brown is fun, smart, and full of life.  When I first saw her in Stranger Things I didn’t even know she was a girl for several episodes.  Though she dresses like a boy in this one at times I had no trouble telling she was a girl this time.  If the producer of this Netflix movie has any sense they will do more.  It did seem to left open for more and I would be first in line to see them. My favorite quote was “She has no gloves?” I purposely give very little specific info about the film as not to ruin it for you.  Enjoy.

Based on the novel series by Nancy Springer, “Enola Holmes” has it all – action, romance, mystery, fun and laughter, wit, drama, epic scenery, inspiration and a great cast.  The pace was perfect never slow and never rushed.   Sometimes you just want to be entertained and this did the trick.  I felt good at the end -- it was an enjoyable 2 hours.  Set in Victorian England & I loved the dialog.  The film has tree houses, fighting, secret codes, homeschooling, trains, beginning of motor vehicles, women’s suffrage, climbing trees and so much more. The moral of the story is given in the following quote “There are two paths you can take Enola, yours, or the path others choose for you.”
